At last! The wild sonorous beast of the back yard has been tamed! The midnight voice of the oil tank is captured inside the sampler (and the laptop). It has been cleaned, truncated, eq'd (low pass filter at 8k), compressed (low threshold, low ratio), and mapped on the keyboard as a fully tuned instrument.......and it sounds good.
Also sounding good is Soundtoys. I've linked to this site in the past but don't think anyone was listening. 'The Times' Culture section reviewed the site last weekend and said, "It's hip, but not painfully so." Loads of fun to be had there, but then that's coming from an oil tank samplist....
