More gorgeous music.

Tom Middleton. Not a name you may be familiar with. Shame, 'cos his own music (with Mark Pritchard) under various guises (Global Communication, Link, Reload, Jedi Knights) is - I think - fantastic. So when I discovered a triple mix CD by Mr Middleton in my local record emporium you may think I was excited. Well, no, not really. Every club, label, D.J., balearic island cafe, magazine, radio station, and electronic duo seem to have a series of the things....packaged in aluminium. But this is different. Very different. For a start, it's actually good music. But it's also a really diverse selection, the 3 CD's are seperated into the themes rhythm, harmony and melody.

CD 3 inparticular is a wonderous collection of really chilled melodic ambient soundscapes. It's not often I go on about a mix CD, but this thing really is the badgers nadgers. If you only ever buy one mix CD, make it this one.

Anyway, I'm a bit out of touch 'cos I only found out the other day that Gambit lost his job 'cos of his blog. Sorry to hear about that Gambit. If it's any consolation you are in good company. Mike Riddell & Galileo spring to mind.

I'm currently putting together a new PhD research proposal, part of which involves finding lots of weblinks on Stanley Spencer and Craigie Aitchison. Shall post the most pertinent ones here for your curiosity, delight and perusal.

Cheers f'now,

take care y'all.
