Tomorrow I'm emmigrating, well, kinda', to Glasgow. Yes, it's more study and yes I'm really excited about it. I shall be researching links between Christian theology and modern / contemporary music and visual art. Just to get some bearings, some of you may have seen / heard about the video artist Bill Viola who currently has three exhibitions in London, he's been all over the media (and Jonny Bakers blog!) the last couple of weeks. Well, my supervisor (to be) has worked with him in the past (possibly still does?). Which is pretty unusual for a theologian, and kind of heartening that there are some Professors of theology out there who see value in media beyond the written word.
I find the thought of moving to a new city in which I don't know a single soul pretty stimulating. The possibilities for learning, exploration and friendship suddenly seem vast. Wish me luck.
