...this was a fun read and resonated tunefully with my most excellent and life-enhancing experience of studying under the tutelage of a genuine intellectual and also my horrendous experience of studying under the "supervision" (though I'm at a loss to know what was super or visionary about it) of someone who has built their identity on their status as an academic. All of which seems to affirm that our insane culture of certification does not stop charlatans from practicing their chosen career but simply means that we have more certificated charlatans while more and more talented people are denied the possibility of living out their vocational yearnings by the barriers of the economic/education system.
Incidentally, Prof. Steve Fuller seems an interesting chap. Will come back to him soon.
