Last Saturday I was at a residential arts centre in Arbroath. Exciting things are afoot! Basically a few of us in the Centre for Literature, Theology and the Arts at Glasgow Uni. are getting together with a few people at the Glasgow School of Art and Stirling and Strathclyde Uni's to form a loose collective of artists and theologians. 'Why?' I hear you ask? Well, because we figure that art provides us with ways of 'doing theology' (whatever that means) which have become almost impossible to do in the 'straight' textual styles in which theology is usually attempted. Hopefully there will be a full-time artist in residence at Glasgow Uni Dept of Theology and perhaps later a full-time theologian at the Glasgow School of Art. I like it already. I've been handed the job as webmaster, which should spur me on to get my own site/s finished.

Last Sunday we had our first book group! We have finally taken flight! None of us really enjoyed the book though (The Cutting Room by Louise Welsh - although Louise Welsh herself is a sweetie). Next book is A Dry White Season by Andre Brink.

Tonight off to cinema to see Kitchen Stories. A Swedish film set in the 1950's in which the Home Research Institute conducts a research programme into domestic habits, with the aim of mapping the kitchen routines of single men. hmm, I'll let you know.

Then tomorrow at 9am I am taking my 1st lecture! New Testament level 1. Then at 10am my second ever lecture - Theology level 1.
