...is a link to a sportwear retailers. Now, either their marketing bods were having a real bad day off when they came up with the name 'Sweatshop', or they have an extremely advanced sense of irony, or perhaps they are just telling us the truth right up front. Anybody's guess.

Another Terry Eagleton quote, this time from 'Literary Theory: An Introduction'.

"If you approach me at a bus stop and murmer 'Thou still unravished bride of quietness,' then I am instantly aware that I am in the presence of the literary. I know this because the texture, rhythm and resonance of your words are in excess of their abstractable meaning - or, as the linguists might more technically put it, there is a disproportion between the signifiers and the signifieds.
