ANALYSING POPULAR TELEVISION FICTION: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.

10am ñ 4pm, Saturday 12th June 2004
Gilmorehill Centre, 9 University Avenue, G12

The Centre for Screen Studies at University of Glasgow is holding a day conference on the analysis of popular television with a particular emphasis on the US series, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The conference will look at this popular television series from a variety of viewpoints and will give detailed accounts of particular episodes or themes. In addition, we will consider the broader question of how and why we should study popular television fiction.
There will be plenty of time for discussion of individual papers and for general comments about current trends in television fiction. Although the day will focus on Buffy, you donít need to be a Buffy fan and we particularly welcome students and teachers who are interested in teaching and studying television.

Life as a theology post-grad isn't all about Derrida, Barth and postmodernism y'know.
