Last night...

...I went to meet the soon-to-be-landlord, an old Pakistani guy, Mr Rafiq. Talk about value for money, not only did we arrange to meet to fix the lease, I also got his whole philosophy on life, which, in shorthand, goes something like, 'It's nice to be nice'. Who could possibly argue? Think we'll get on fine. Future flatmate (to protect the innocent let's call her) B. seems really nice too. So far I've figured out she's into hip-hop and hillwalking. The front 'garden' is bigger than I remember. I can already imagine myself sat in the sun reading Michel de Certeau (jolly good by the way, recommend 'The Mystic Fable' or the reader ed. by Graham Ward), listening to some Ornette Coleman, Sparklehorse or Peter Tosh. Could be a good thang. Did I mention the place is cavernous too? Might need to take a trip to Ikea.

My current (soon to be ex) neighbour (L.) has just bought a new speaker system. I can confirm that the sub-bass unit is indeed functioning satisfactorily. It seems my earplugs and pillow fail to block out frequencies below 50-55hz.

Last nights entertainment came via a fire in the car-park opposite. Don't worry, it was only an old shed. Rather spectacular though. However, after the fire people came and put it out they came with the plod and did a raid on the block of flats next door. Wonder if the two events are connected? End of exam arson? Don't recommend it myself.

The sub-bass is shaking again....time for me to dissapear to Kelvin Park with 'Breaking the Fall' by Robert Detweiler. Very much recommended.
