....could there be such a thing as a......

The quote at the end was the clincher for me.
"We need to change attitudes to condoms, if we need to get out into the bedrooms to make things better we will do it."
How wonderfully progressive!
Still not quite Wi-Fi'd up. It seems there is a hitch with the VPN client or the VPN client plug-in. No, I don't understand either. Doubt if I ever will. Doubt if by the end of it I'll have the will to live or e:mail another 'help'-desk ever again. That's progress for ya.
Been scribbling an article on Mel Gibson's 'The Passion of Christ' (see earlier post). Meeting with a few other fellow scribblers tomorrow morning (it's a saturday for goodness sake! What were they thinking! Don't they understand that important things are to be done on Saturday mornings, like clearing the fridge of mouldy cheese, vacuuming, dozing, listening to radio 5 live in bed and making a shopping list for the Safeway run!) to discuss and possibly try to get published in some subversive rag, real or virtual. Decided that the antidote to the 'theology' of Mel Gibson is the theology of Nick Cave, yeah, the singer / songwriter / novelist / essayist (sort of...) / one-time curator of the London poetry festival / friend of Kylie and dweller of Brighton. He wrote an essay which I first saw in 'Sleazenation' magazine, which, by the way, is a very much under-rated spiritual resource in todays market, and which was first broadcast on BBC Radio 3 in July 1996. The essay is called 'The Flesh Made Word' and is a jolly good read. I'm sure it's online somewhere if anyone wants to google it and its in 'King Ink II', a collection of lyrics, poems, essays, scribblings, etc, etc.
Which reminds me, Brighton, being the wonderfully progressive place that it is, has a great big Wi-Fi hotspot on the beach between the piers. How marvelously marvelous!!!! Now, if only Glasgow city council would entertain the idea of turning Kelvin Park into a Wi-F...........oh, darn, it'll never happen.
