In the bedside book drawer at the moment...

The Ambient Century - Mark Pendergast.

The Future of Man - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. (Creative minds and institutions rarely mix well).

A Theology of Compassion - Oliver Davies (revisiting this from a couple of years ago - a bit demanding, but I'm getting there).

The Psychopaths Bible - Christopher S. Hyatt (Nietzsche's 'The Antichrist' in a self-help format.....sort of....).

Talking Music (Conversations with John Cage, Philip Glass, Pauline Oliveros, Laurie Anderson, etc) - William Duckworth (think that's his name - doing this from memory).

Contingency, Irony, Solidarity - Richard Rorty. (Another re-read, thought provoking but flawed).

I've changed my avatar and background too. Saw the film 'The Story of the Weeping Camel' twice this year and apparently camels often stare at the horizon, which is one of my developing hobbies (ok, some call it 'doing philosophy' and yes I have been reading/thinking over some Spinoza recently, but mostly it's because I'm stuck on something). The background has become spacey. A deliberate attempt to bump us out of our anthropocentric obsessions - as Bill Hicks commented, "We are a virus with shoes....that's all."
