....all last weeks theological wordiness back to some music.

Labradford. No, not L.A. Bradford, they aren't West Yorkshire gangsta rappers. First heard of them via that rather spangly 'Invisible Dukebox' book I stumbled across in Oxfam in Park St. Bristol. I think it was the Harold Budd 'interview', Mr Budd liked them very much. The next week I'm trawling through a bargain bin (*ALL* my fave music comes from bargain bins!) and....bingo!....Labradford! 'fixed::context' is the name of the album, from 2000 and was produced by Steve Albini, but get all thoughts of Nirvana out of your head. Shifting soundscapes with subtle sweeps of gentle guitar slowly floating from the speakers. Lovely. Kinda like Harold Budd.....but with a guitar.

And then em:t0003 lands in my paws. em:t were one of my favourite labels in the mid '90's but dissapeared within a whisker of the new Century. Now they're back and jolly welcome they are too. em:t0003 is a compilation of new material, old faves such as 'beatsystem' and 'international peoples gang' are back along with lots of new names...well, new to me anyway. Old veteran Andy Hughes from 'The Orb' has a track t00. A highly recomended place to start your em:t love affair.
