...Bush in the Whitehouse (7 words in and already this sounds like a porn mag review...[shrugs shoulders]...sorry!) has made critiquing U.S. right-wing politics akin to shooting fish in a barrel, it's just too easy, despite their best efforts to leave their crime scenes DNA free. You don't hear too much critique of the liberal Guardian-reading left. This is a shame because some people seem to be under the impression that there's nothing in a liberal worldview which needs to be critically scrutinised and held to account. OK, so liberalism is largely free of the intellectual totalitarianism of the right and perhaps the left starts from a healthier position from which to theorise and act in the multicultural West with questions of difference at its heart, especially in the current context. Time to highlight just one shortcoming of the Guardian-reading sect, c/o Silentio.
