Anarchism...

...has gotten itself a really bad name, and all because of a spray-paint hair restyling for Winston Churchill. Silly when you think about it, you can start a war and kill 1000's and it's still ok (well....sort of) to identify yourself as a Republican / New Labourite. Anarchism and Christianity have much in common. Anarchism (as I'm sure you're aware) means 'without leader'. Personally, I take Monty Pythons Life of Brian as a serious (/hilarious) critique of Christianity. The point isn't to imitate/follow Christ, apologies to fans of Mr A Kempis, the result is almost always mindless herd followers, which in case you were wondering, really wasn't Jesus' intention. The point is to imitate nobody but to innovate your own authentic way of being and if you want to read Christ as being an example of someone who accomplished this par excellence then cool. Which would make Jesus an anarchist. Funny that, I can't remember any New Testament references to him having a skinny dog on a string and selling the Big Issue, which seems to be the contemporary definition of an anarchist; though he was born in a squat. Anyway, the point is that a ridiculous caricature of anarchism has become the norm, derided because of it's violence (silly when you think of the damage a few bombs dropped on Iraq can do). Sadly, those holding to the contemporary caricature of anarchism don't seem to have the analytical capacity required to see that violence is not a reason for rejecting anarchism, but, it is a great reason to reject violence, which, the last time I looked in my dictionary, was different to anarchism.

This looks looks/sounds good:- Kill Radio
James Brown on at the mo.
Has some links to some very good articles on the Katrina / New Orleans tragedy, including an article by Naomi Klein. Talking of which, is it time to remove Associated Press from your links list? I think so.
