While I'm on topics photographic I should mention Gimpshop open source image editor. Basically it's Adobe Photoshop but a bit clunkier. The latest incarnation has even undergone a facelift to the user interface so it works pretty close to Photoshop, a lot of the Photoshop tutorials can be followed almost exactly in Gimpshop. Available from the link above for OSX, Windoze and the crazy-eyed Linux freaks.
