Thought I'd share this :)

Remember my friends' little lad born Jan 06 with spina bifida... These emails go round the world every couple of weeks. I thought I'd share this week's with you all by way of lifting people's spirits and cheering one another on.

Praise God, for He is good, incredibly, awesomely and beautifully good. We can't fathom what He gets up to or why. He only knows. This is what we get when we trust in Him and pray to Him, together, and raise our eyes to His throne and claim His promise of life and life to the full.
And anyway, with parents like these guys, who wouldn't be doing more than well ;)
(Loves ya!)

Subject: Daniel update - 11th May 2007

Hi folks - please forward to all who knows us.

Yesterday Daniel turned 16 months. Time as I've said many times before is passing so quickly.

Things with Daniel are really good. A real miracle has occurred with his weight. You will all recall how he struggled to gain weight due to medication he was taking in March last year, and languished around the 0.4th %tile. Dieticians were brought in, and supplements given in order to propel him to the 25th %tile.

Last Wednesday we took Daniel to BCH due to an apparent water infection and sickness, which we always need to get checked out in case there was any risk of damage to his kidneys and problems with the shunt. Everything was all clear thank God, but when they weighed him, he recorded 24lbs 14oz - on the charts that came out as being around the 51st %tile, which is an incredible weight increase. The dietician joked that perhaps we need to look at him losing weight!

He is now standing when offered a hand, and there are real signs of locomotion in his legs. He is calling anything and everything 'mama', and lots of other babbles are emerging.

Things are just perfect. Thank You Lord.

Lyn and I are good. My first hospital appointment at Birmingham Heartlands was very positive - I await lots of tests to try and identify what's going on, but all in all, I'm well.

Work is now starting to wind down. Universities are ending teaching for this academic year, and colleges have around 7 weeks until they close. Then it's summer time, and Lyn and I will be off until September, bar one or two weeks when I'll be working for the Open University, wherever they send me this year.

Please continue to pray for Daniel - his progress is startling, and is evidence of prayer working, and the grace of our Lord being ever present.

Love, peace and blessings to all,

Colin, Lyn and Daniel.x
