just had a gorgeous couple of days at Dunfield House close to Presteigne by the Welsh border. Relaxing, walking, swimming, chatting... The food was sterling, and way too abundant for anyone's waistline. We made a massive bonfire on saturday night which kept me mesmerized awhile and on which we roasted a few marshmallows in spite of more stuff being thrown on the fire pretty much constantly by the pyromaniacs amongst us. My cell are ace. They're family with a different name, both because my actual family is so far away (apart from Guy) and because they're complete and thorough stars each and every one. Thinking of housegroup when I was in Swansea and the differences that with how cell is meant to work, I think our housegroup was always a little more like a cell than others I heard of... We spent time together and became more like family than just people thrown into a group together by circumstances, we shared life in its good and bad, tidy and ugly guises and got on with loving one another come what may and getting to know that funny God of ours along the way. Hmmm. With cell, we do that and sing our praise to God. We may have more reminders about having an impact around us, about the power of our all-together prayers and some other periferalstucture parts of who we are as a group. I don't know. I do know we have love. Love that knows very few limits and can overcome the boundaries we put up. Love that waits and listens, that challenges kindly but firmly, that causes and engineers laughter to soothe the soul and that makes a way in 'spiritual' and 'practical' situations. Love that is so Jesus' kind of Love that I know He smiles and cheers us on so that we get up up all those times we know or think we missed a mark. More than just a Bible study or a prayer group, more than just a social circle and more than just a team... Family, and the Head of this House is God.
