Today I'm marrying two fourteen year olds! It's only for educational purposes, of course, but they are very excited about it and about getting to dress up. Last night we tore the house to pieces trying to find my wedding dress, tailcoats and an old cassock. Finally discovered most things were 'carefully' put away in the airing cupboard - don't you just hate that!

Two lots of our friends are getting married. We saw one of the couples last night. They have decided to have a very quiet wedding with just their parents and four other people on the Friday and then a large blessing on the Saturday. This is because of their very difficult families. Our other friends are running the gauntlet of going to see her family about the wedding in a few weeks. They had hoped to take us for moral support, but we can't fit in with dates. You would hope that when your grown-up, independent children announced that after careful thought and consideration they were getting married parents might be able to say, 'Congratulations', rather than be totally negative, like so many of us have even when we've not been sure that it was good news. Oh well, no accounting for families, I guess.
