I was just wondering whether we were the only people in the world who never managed to reach where we're going on time, no matter how hard we try? The worst time was a friend's wedding that hubby was supposed to be taking. We had driven to the rehearsal and it took 1 hr. We thought 3 hours would be enough time to be on the safe side. They closed the motorway and our friends were married by the minister of that church instead!
Friday was the worst ever. We had an appointment at 11.20, we left at 10.40 to complete a 20 minute journey. When we reached the road where our appointment was, an accident had just taken place and they had to close the road so we had to drive right around the town the other way and were late again!
Then Friday night we were going to see Russell Brand at Dartford. This involves crossing the bridge, but a mere 6 mile journey. We left at 6.30 for an 8 o'clock show. We travelled 1 mile in 2 hours. Maybe the crucial factor is the M25?
Having taken forever to get to Dartford, we were pleased to find that Russell Brand was also caught in the same traffic and so hadn't missed him at all. He was very funny, if not utterly filthy. If you are not easily upset at gutter humour he's worth seeing. His theme is being a sad, embarrassed individual, like the rest of us. Oh, so true.
