Huge enjoyment at returning to choir and church after the holidays, to see everyone again and catch up on news. Most of the choir met up at Bradford-on-Avon during August, to sing at the church of a former curate.
It was back to Rutter ('All things bright and beautiful') with a vengeance this morning, to the joy of many in the congregation. However, only a dozen turned up to Evensong (probably our lowest attendance ever) to hear us sing Stanford's 'Beati Quorum Via'. This was sung well and with confidence, a capella, probably in part due to its recent outing at Bradford-on-Avon. It delighted our Reader, taking Evensong today, who had never heard it before. I'm very happy that it has become part of our regular repertoire, as it is my favourite anthem of all time.
