Several weeks of wonderfully varied events in the 'Tavistock Sings!' music festival ( www.tavistockmusic.co.uk ). So many events, it's not possible to go to everything; this week I went to two very rewarding organ recitals, with three of our resident organists playing several of my favourite items between them. Highlights included Vierne's 'Carillon de Longpont', Lefebure-Wely's 'Sortie' and Karg-Elert's 'Nun Danket'. Now I'm looking forward to the Haldon Quartet on Sunday, plus our own Festival Evensong. I just wish my silly (very loud) cough would go away, which has necessitated me appreciating the music from the very back of the church, to cause minimum distraction. Such annoyances are always so badly timed.
