'Lord give me faith' (Robson) sounded lovely as a post-communion anthem today, especially the contrast of the S&A middle verse. While we were singing you could have heard a pin drop - even the children in the play corner were super-quiet. The anthem, to my mind, is very pleasing to listen to, but stopping short of being 'twee' which is often the problem with more modern easy-listening music. We then sang 'Happy Birthday' in the Vestry after the service to a 9 year-old, not in the choir but a possible recruit. Now that did sound a lot more bawdy and raucous as we were trying to drown out the organist; I hope we didn't put her off.
