Tonight we climbed up the tor to the highest church in Creamtealand for evensong. 15 people plus two dogs almost filled the tiny church, enthusiastically singing the four hymns, Ferial responses, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, by gaslight. It made a wonderful contrast to the normal town evensong in our very large church.
But why, oh why, did the only rain cloud during the whole of the day decide to precipitate upon us as we climbed up the tor? It must have been lying in wait, especially.
