I was grateful for a fairly 'easy' Sunday, with morning Eucharist only. The Mass of St. Thomas is very well-known and instead of an anthem we sang a hymn: 'When I survey the wondrous cross (Rockingham). Alternating harmony and unison verses (one with solo and ATB hum) gave variety; singing it a capella gave a haunting quality. The service was followed by a hearty homemade soup Lent Lunch, after which I promptly fell asleep.
