We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Hereford Cathedral, during the Friends of Cathedral Music gathering. The choir boys were particularly well-trained; we were especially impressed at the musicality shown in their early morning rehearsal. As well as the services, we were treated to talks on church music, an organ recital, a guided tour of the cathedral, several meals and a trip out to Dore Abbey, Kilpeck Church (as featured in the recent "Churches: How to read them" series) and Belmont Abbey. I can recommend the FCM and these gatherings to anyone interested in cathedral music.
