On a cold frosty morning

Last night we had fun singing in a concert with the Stannary Brass Band. The first half saw a medley of Christmas carols interspersed with exciting arrangements of theme music by band members. During the second half, the choir and band joined forces to perform 'Carol of the Bells' (arranged Grey). We had only practised with the band once, so had to count like mad, but it all came together and sounded rather good. There was only one 'Ding' when there should have been a 'Dong'.

The theme of the morning service today was 'Climate Change' - and the climate certainly had changed when I got up this morning. Jolly cold it was, with frost on the ground. The choir vestry was also cold, but fortunately the church itself was lovely and warm. Our anthem was taken from the New Testament reading, 'Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say Rejoice', sung to a setting by Redford. We sang it much better in the vestry - I guess the cold kept us awake and concentrating.
