The leaves are falling off the trees and the conkers have ripened beautifully, so it is definitely Autumn and we're back in full choral mode after our summer break. The first Sunday back we started very gently with 'Bread is Blessed and Broken' (Iona) and 'God be in my head' (Rutter), and with Martin How's 'Day by Day' on the second Sunday. One of our basses has won an organ scholarship so we shall miss him greatly. However, one of the readers has retired and will now be able to take his place. We also had the pleasure and delight of welcoming the younger sisters of two of our trebles, who can now just about see over the top of the choir stalls.
