Happy Easter!
Easter Sunday Eucharist with big procession following the S. Eustachius (Patron Saint) Banner. Full sung Eucharist, including Gloria and Alleluias, all the hymns and acclamations including Alleluias as is fitting for Easter. Sung 'This Joyful Eastertide' again - but that's okay as I've decided I like it now! The church was very full today - why do people come out of the woodwork for Easter and Christmas, only to disappear just as quickly again afterwards?
Eggs in a basket to be handed out to all the children (and hungry looking older choir members - mmmmmm!) - after the service.

Festival Evensong, not so many there - but then there never is at the Evening services. Psalm and Canticles to Anglican Chant (unusual for a Festival Evensong, but have had little time to practise anything major anyway). Stanford's 'Ye Choirs of New Jerusalem' more than made up for it - I love the build-up to the end. The cypher is not mended as the weather is still very dry, but the organist drowned it out with lots of 'welly', in the Anthem, Hymn arrangements, and voluntary (Carillon Sortie - Mulet), so it wasn't too noticeable. Hopefully it will be cured by the time of our Town Music Festival at the beginning of May......
