Skived off choirpractice (!!!) to listen to my son playing in the Wind Band Concert - Youth Wind Band playing with the Band of the Adjutant General's Corps. Made a change from Choral Music! Weren't sure until the last minute if the concert could go ahead, as the Band members were on standby for medical duties in the Gulf. They played a mixture of old favourites (Hebrew Slaves Chorus - Verdi, Second Suite in F - Holst, Sleepers Wake - Bach, National Anthem) and some funny pieces (Tartan Tuba - reinterpreted as 'Tart on Tuba' complete with costume; the Two Imps - on xylophone; The Huntsman - played on tubing with funnel, kettle and toilet on the other end!!) A good evening out and my voice is thoroughly rested.
