9.30am is way too early for a youth service - why did son no. 1 agree to take part?! and have to get there 1/2 hour early for a rehearsal...... (he was 'Jesus' in a performance of JC Superstar)
Now 2pm, that's a much better time for a service - Good Friday Liturgy, all very solemn; dramatised reading where the choir was the crowd (soldiers, priests, etc.) so got to shout 'Crucify Him' for the second time this week (I'm beginning to wonder whose side I'm on!) Anthem - 'We glory in your cross O Lord' - Richard Shephard. Sacrament in one kind only today. At the end, we all have to depart chaotically - very hard to do this when you're in the choir - we are obviously too well-trained. Favourite part of the service - when we kneel to sing 'When I survey the wondrous cross' and the deacon processes slowly up to the altar carrying a large wooden cross. One of those 'trembly' moments......
