Two weddings yesterday (both very different) and back in Church again today. I'm sure we could camp permanently in the choir vestry and nobody would notice anything unusual.
While the Vicar's away the curate will play, or at least preach. She can't preside yet as the ordination isn't until the end of June. While the Organist's away the Choirmaster will play - that's better!
There is a sense of Easter drawing to a close, it seems to have gone very quickly this year, but our Alleluias are already beginning to sound rather tired.
Anthem today was: Never Weather beaten Sail, by Thomas Campion. Reminds me of storms - rather appropriate for the weather we have been having recently!
Thought we were going to get some more choir recruits at Evensong - but it was only visitors who couldn't find the main church door..... they managed to find the right one to go out of so they didn't have to listen to the sermon, though!
