Merry Christmas!

One day I thought I would grow up and not need a sleep before Midnight Mass, but it hasn't happened yet.....

At least I have the excuse of singing carols at the hospital first, in the early evening, which tires me out ;)

Pews packed and many people standing - amazing how few people I recognise, where do they all come from? I love the sound of the handbells ringing rounds during the communion - then we sang 'Away in a Manger' after the administration, very softly. A hush in an extremely crowded church.

Christmas morning - how hard to get up early to be in church by 9am! Again the church was surprisingly full, given the early hour, although not as full as at midnight.

Sunday came around very quickly again, now not so many in church - but we still sang the Christmas carols as Christmas is by no means over yet. Sadly we had to say goodbye to the returning choristers who sang with us over Christmas and now had to go back to University or work.

Heard that our choirmaster has got the MBE in the New Year's Honours List - hooray! :)
