Pentecost

...Or Whitsunday, as I prefer to call it....
It was hard work getting up extra early this morning (especially after a late-night return from the Bristol Shipmeet) but worth it as a yummy parish breakfast - full cooked works - was placed in front of me, classical music playing, and newspapers on the side. I'll come to this cafe again :)

On to church for the morning Eucharist, with 'God is a Spirit' as the Anthem. We didn't have time to practise it on Friday as there was a special practice with Andrew Millington in preparation for the Diocesan Choral Festival at Exeter Cathedral. But one quick practice in the choir vestry beforehand was fortunately enough.

Just to make sure, we sang the same anthem again in the evening, together with the 150th Psalm - a suitable celebration for Pentecost.

At after-service coffee I saw one of the men wearing a badge announcing he was 'church warden', such a mild-mannered man, and found myself imagining him smiting someone, churchoffools.com style. Nope, I couldn't see it somehow....
