Church is cool

....on a hot day.

4th Sunday after Trinity: back to the 'This is our story, this is our song' Eucharist booklets for this was a baptism service. If our main tenor thought he would never have to sing 'The Peruvian Gloria' again, he was gravely mistaken. 'O Saviour of the World' by Goss made up for it, though. As did the gorgeous individual mousses (strawberry, raspberry, cherry, mixed fruit trifle) made and served by the baptism party to the whole congregation. They can have as many babies as they like, as far as we are concerned!
Actually, the choir should not have been eating mousses, for we were going straight on to a party (to celebrate the 80th birthday of a 'choir husband') with lots of delicious food - tapas, salads, heavily-laden dessert trolley, and other cassock-busting delights. The diet starts tomorrow......

5th Sunday after Trinity: Cantate Domino, by Pitoni. Only one tenor, but fortunately the one with the loudest voice. So no altos had to gremble in their boots. At evensong, we sang 'The Lord hath been mindful' by Wesley (part of 'Ascribe unto the Lord'). The sopranos complained that they had to sing a top A (not usually a problem, but it was a hot evening....)
