A strange weekend

I'm not used to having a lie-in on a Sunday morning, and haven't had one for a whole year. So it was bliss to skip church and let the Exon Singers do all the hard work. They sang the Howells 'Coll Reg' setting, apparently.

Our turn came in the evening, where we were wheeled back in to sing our final evensong before the summer holiday. Everyone was rather tired and jaded - for one thing it felt very unnatural singing Evensong as our first service of the day - so Franck's 'Panis Angelicus' didn't go as well as usual. Ah well, the congregation will miss us when they have to do without any music for four weeks. Or a limited amount of music anyway - especially as our organ is being refurbished during the summer.
For £10 a shot we can sponsor an organ pipe or sponsor a voluntary (presumably to be played once it is all back together again).
