A Trinity of Maps, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

I am now fed up to the back teeth of hearing the phrase, 'Mission Action Plan'. It's rather like those repetitive adverts on ClassicFM - even if, after the first time of hearing, you might be convinced to buy their product, after the 55th time of hearing you never want to even hear of the product again, no matter how enticingly it is packaged or promoted. Sunday was Trinity Sunday: Father, Son and Holy Mission Action Plan. Or something....
We were rather short of Sopranos this week, managing only 6 at each service. The tenors and basses (of which there were many) were urged to pipe down a little during 'Hymn to the Trinity' by Tchaikovsky in the morning, which was a good thing as we were able to bring out the expression - crescendo and decrescendo - which is so moving in Russian music. For something completely different in the Evening we sang, 'Jesus is Lord' by How. Mostly in unison (apart from the ending) and sounding rather 1970s, it was an unusual departure from our standard evensong fare. The reader taking the service liked it, though, and it certainly woke us all up from the soporific effects of an otherwise rather-too-peaceful service.
