He is risen indeed, Alleluia!

Easter Sunday is my favourite Sunday of the year. It's quite amazing to reflect through those days from Maundy Thursday as we remember the last supper and that moving demonstration of love and service as Jesus washed the disciples feet; through Good Friday and time spent sitting 'at the foot of the cross' to Saturday and then Easter morning. And what a wonderful way to begin our worship time together with the words "Alleluia. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia" I love it! We had a wonderfully full church yesterday, the regulars all appeared as well as many visitors - a good number of them with the families of the five children being baptised - three little ones, a thirteen year old and a ten year old.
My voice had fortunately come back enough to preach which was quite a relief! Some of the children present did a great job of helping me show the things that Mary Magdalene saw that morning (in picture form) - my artistic skills are far from awesome (school report: 'Michelle tries hard in art, but has no talent whatsoever!' or something along those lines!) but the pictures were fairly recognisable - at least when I'd explained what each was supposed to be (and in no small part due to the help of my friend, VicarBoss's Wife!). :D
We enjoyed lunch with one of the baptism families and then having tied up a few loose ends so I could start my week's holiday without a load of work things swimming around my mind, we headed over to my mum and dad's for a chilled out rest-of-the-day.
My mum had been getting into the traditional Easter spirit and had made me an Easter bonnet!

Easter bonnet

You don't see many Easter bonnets around at church these days - though I remember making them at school each year when I was very young! The two daughters of one church family did arrive in their home-decorated bonnets though, which was lovely!

I might post an extra piccie later of me actually wearing mine... watch this space!
