It's been an interesting weekend as we continue to settle into our new home. I've had an old friend (that is she's a very good and longstanding friend, rather than she's old!) and her daughter (lovely god-daughter) to stay which has been great, though it feels quite strange now they've gone and it's back to me and TeenSon and not really knowing many people here yet.
Our plans to go to the not-far-off seaside were rather delayed on Saturday by the toilet in the 'lovely' new bathroom getting blocked! So we all spent the morning waiting for the drain man who announced when he arrived that it could only be sorted on Monday. (I would like to add at this point that the problem was a longstanding one that our arrival here made apparent!).
But we did get there in the end and a good time - and much candyfloss, honeycomb and amusements were had by all. The walk back to the car, along the front was lovely - there's nothing quite like the sun starting to set over the sea. I suspect that when I need some praying and pondering, some 'away' time and reminders of God as I take on my new role, this might be the place I'll go:
And then this morning Old Friend and Lovely god-daughter wanted to have a bit of a wander at GBSC (Great Big Shopping Centre) which is just up the road, so we tootled over there. It turned out to be a special day for the Sea Cadets so we had the added bonus of some excellent displays:

Sailors' Hornpipe
Club swinging
And yes, now it's back to the boxes!
