Another one bites the meme

Jumping on the meme bandwagon... thanks to Tractorgirl, Steveand my mate the 'ole dreamer dreamin'.

1. Flip to page 18, paragraph 4 in the book closest to you right now, what does it say?
Well, there's no paragraph 4 on page 18, but paragraph 3 says, "O Lord, you are always there for us, if only we'd turn. We give you thanks for your steadfast love and guidance, and your gentle presence when we need you most. Amen. (Pink Shoes) That's from the RevGalBlogPals book 'Ordinary Time - Year B Devotions from June to November'.

2. If you stretch out your left arm - as far as possible, what are you touching?
The wall or notice board propped against the wall depending on how much I've been fiddling with the gas-lift bit of the chair!

3. What's the last program you watched on tv?
I was watching a programme about people who'd been awarded the Victoria Cross (VC) - pretty awesome, courageous men (the ones I saw were all men, but I didn't see the whole programme).

4. Without looking, guess what time it is.
I haven't got much of a clue... ok, I'll guess 9.58pm. Ooh not bad - it's 9.54pm!

5. Except the computer, what can you hear right now?
I can hear the washing machine doing its thing in the kitchen (the gentle bit, before it starts sounding like a rocket taking off!) and voices on the tele in the lounge where TeenSon is watching.

6. When was the last time you were outside and what did you do?
Well about 5 minutes ago I went out to the front gate to shut it properly as it was crashing around in the wind, but before that I think it was to say goodbye to TeenSon's dad and two younger (half)brothers after they'd brought him home.

7. What are you wearing?
Oh dear, am I allowed to lie?! Ok, black trousers (changed between services from my jeans as had to look slightly more presentable this afternoon), a little T-shirt under a clerical shirt with the collar taken out, and a black, baggy fleecy jumper. And if I'm going to be totally honest then... giant blue fluffy boot slipper things and a hot water bottle shoved up my jumper!

8. Did you dream last night? If you did, what about?
Yeah I did, I remember that I remembered it when I woke up because it was related to something that was on my mind and I found it a bit disturbing - but I haven't got a clue what it was about now!

9. When was the last time you laughed?
Talking to another wiblogger on msn earlier - copious amounts of 'lol' strewn in the conversation! And around the same time when me and TeenSon were bellowing tunelessly along to Blondie's 'The Tide is High'!

10. What's on the walls in the room you're in right now?
Ok, the wall behind me has floor to ceiling bookshelves bursting at the seams with books (obviously!), in front of me is my favourite print of a chaotic/exotic garden (the one I bought for myself with the money my mum gave me to go and get some decent girlie shoes for a wedding we were all going to - but I came back with the framed print and wore my old boots haha!). And next to me is a load of random stuff stuck on the wall and notice boards: an A4 photo I printed of me and the Youth Group at Greenbelt last year, a sheet I typed out with the words the Bishop says at the ordination of priests - to remind me - especially the bit that says, "because you cannot bear the weight of this ministry in your own strength but only by the grace and power of God, pray earnestly for his Holy Spirit..." A quote on preaching (also for inspiration), a list of prayer needs of people from the new estate here, a couple of tiny photos of my mum and dad and my lovely mate Debs with her son, another A4 photo of me with my mates all dolled up for our college's May Ball a couple of years ago... I'll stop there - the wall's littered with stuff!! (Well, I do spend quite a bit of time sitting here!).

11. Have you seen anything strange lately?
Hmmm, I definitely have to agree with the mirror answer! Can't think of anything else!

12. What do you think about this meme?
It's long! And I'm thinking if anyone reads down this far, well, that'll be nice!

13. What's the last film you saw?
A good old Bond film - 'Living Daylights' on Thursday morning (my day off), since then I've seen snippets of 'View to a Kill' and 'Lord of the Rings', but I suppose snippets don't count! I can't remember the last thing I saw at the cinema, it was so long ago!

14. If you became a multimillionaire, what would you do with the money?
I'd give some to the church, buy myself a little house somewhere quietish so that when I retire I don't have to live in a tent!, make sure my family were ok, put a load away for TeenSon, surprise people with anonymous gifts, bump up my donations to some charities and organisations, buy a nice car (no offence to my little ka of course who does a wonderful job), er, go on a clothes and shoes spree... for/with a couple of mates too, oh and maybe do what some friends of mine (a married couple) did for me a few years ago. They had some money (quite a little sum) and they prayed that God would show them what they should do with it. Well, at the same time (unbeknown to either of us) I had tentatively started praying with a friend for a car (I'd never dared to pray for anything like that before!). Then shortly after one of them came round and said, "we don't want to offend you, but we were praying and we had a sense that God wanted us to buy you a car... what do you think?" Awesome!! So, I'd ask God what he wanted me to do with it too!

15. Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know.
I can't think of anything! This is probably to do with a) I'm very dull, b) I'm quite open about stuff and most people generally know a fair bit about me, and c) anything they don't know, I can't tell!!

16. If you could change ONE THING in this world, without regarding politics or bad guilt - what would it be?
I presume I can't choose something that's so wrapped up in other things like, 'an end to suffering'? Alright then, I'd go for an improvement in Spurs performance so we win the triple this season!! I'm not sure which one would be the biggest miracle!

17. Do you like dancing?
Yes, though I'm not very good at it. It was much better when I used to drink a fair bit - confidence and all... now I just have to rely on myself - oh and God, but he seems to have more important things on his mind than replacing alcohol fueled dance-floor confidence!

18. George Bush?
I'm sure he means well...?

19. What do you want your children's names to be, girl/boy?
Well, my boy already has a name... a proper one, as well as 'TeenSon' ;). Not much chance of any more in my singleton state (much to my mum's disappointment!).

20. Would you ever consider living abroad?
A very tiny maybe... but I like it here, despite some of the insane politics. I'm far too inclined to talk about nice cups of tea, the weather and my favourite walk in the Peak District to live anywhere else.

21. What do you want God to tell you, when you come to heaven?
Something along the lines of his "Well done, good and faithful servant" you know like, "Well done mate, I'm right chuffed that you wanted to make a difference for me and you managed it occassionally." Or maybe, "Here I am! Oh and Moses, Paul and Nelson Mandela are just waiting for a little chat!"

22. Who should do this meme?
Er, anyone who fancies it... hope they remember to tell me so I can have a good read.
