A shed

The sun seems to be strengthening.

When I reach home this evening, perhaps, there will be a new shed in the garden. Yesterday, two rows of slabs were laid, to provide a base. This shed has been causing me considerable anxiety. There are two possible locations for a shed in our garden. One of them was, under the previous owner, the site of a greenhouse, and is, therefore, better prepared. The problem is that a shed erected in the same place (the greenhouse vanished with the previous owner) may annoy the people whose garden backs on to ours. Because they belong to a different street, we have had no dealings with them, and no occasion to enquire whether they would have a problem. Legally, we are, I am told, entitled to put up a shed of this size without seeking planning permission.

Son is in good spirits - hopefully, on this occasion, the chicken pox has passed him by. Daughter has been advised by her teacher to have special shampoo and a special comb at home in case of head lice. The joys of youth! On the plus side, yesterday evening, the twins, who live two doors along, came to our door carrying a bracelet which daughter had left in their house. It is quite a precious item, so it was nice to have it again.
