Where'd Sunday go?

A complicated weekend. On son's birthday, a few weeks ago, he announced that what he wanted was a ride on Thomas. The Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway were offering a Thomas weekend (this weekend), so it seemed (as my computing friends sometimes say) a 'no-brainer' that we would spend a day on the railway. But grandma required a lift, and our attendance at a garden party organised by the Myasthenia Gravis Association on Saturday, so we thought that God wouldn't mind if we missed church on Sunday.

In the event, both days worked out well, although the weather wasn't perfect. Pictures were taken at the Thomas event, one or two of which are suitable for publication, hopefully to be included in future wiblog entries. Unfortunately, daddy (moi) woke up this morning feeling distinctly unwell. Sheer exhaustion, I reckon, since I feel better now after a lazy day (we are on holiday to-day and to-morrow).

Many thanks, Karin, for the recipe. I used it on Saturday. The results were, to me, delicious, but not what daughter was expecting. What she had been given at the breakfast club were Scottish pancakes, what I think that the majority of my readers know as drop scones. On Sunday, I followed a recipe by Bero, the flour makers, which met with daughter's approval (basically self-raising flour instead of plain, and with some sugar added). So the challenge now is to help daughter to acquire a taste for proper breakfast pancakes - maybe with maple or golden (tm?) syrup. We'll see (it wouldn't be the end of the world to have drop scones for breakfast - they're just a bit sweet for me) ...
