An unexpected outing

I've just returned from the out-of-hours doctor's surgery (which, thankfully, isn't far from our home). Secondborn had been complaining of a sore head (common enough for an adult, but seemed strange for a two-year-old). We phoned the out-of-hours surgery, just in case, and he suggested giving the lad some Calpol, and taking him round. We had to wait a while to be seen, during which period secondborn brought up his tea. The doctor reckons that he has an ear infection, and has given us a course of antibiotics.

Not a particularly pleasant experience, but we are fortunate to receive this kind of service. The nurse and the doctor were both kind, and professional. But why is it that all the magazines in the waiting room are womens' magazines?

So, particularly tired, but relieved that it wasn't anything more serious,

PTL,

Chas
