We went, as a family, to B & Q this morning, so that wife could look at rugs. If she found one that she liked, it was to be purchased as a birthday present. Suddenly, dad (me) realised that second born was nowhere to be seen. We split up, and searched the store. We were carrying a pair of two-way radios with us (sometimes useful for communicating in large supermarkets). Second born was pushing a toy buggy, with a toy baby, and one of the radios, in the buggy. Wife, possibly out of desperation, radioed "Where are you, second born?" (Of course, she didn't call him second born, but if I wrote his real name, then you would know, and you're not supposed to, are you?) Someone asnwered, "He's here, at Customer Services." (Meanwhile, I was still searching the store, becoming worried.)
Wife has found a rug she likes. We also bought a smaller rug, which first born likes. Dad bought a couple of low-energy light bulbs, and replacement skirts for the light fittings, so we now have an energy-efficient hallway.
