Family support

Arrived at work, just in time for lunch. This morning I took family support leave, to take first born to see a community health doctor. When the school got us to fill in a routine health questionnaire, we mentioned that she has Neurofibromatosis Type 1, and that she has the use of only one eye. It was decided that it would be a good idea if she was assessed by this doctor, in case she might need extra help at school.

The doctor was young, and pleasant. It turned out that he already knew of first born, and had possibly met her, since he had previously worked with the consultant who is in charge of the ward at the children's hospital where she was treated. The assessment was positive. I showed him the large patch of discoloured skin which first born has on her neck and one shoulder. He is going to look up his books, and let us know what he finds.
