So far, it's had a chequered history. The first evening, I couldn't get the demo to work. Then, we rented "The Tweenies". I couldn't get that to work. But, I managed to play an audio CD. Then, I managed to get the demo to work, but there wasn't really anything to play. I still couldn't get "The Tweenies" to work.
Wife took "The Tweenies" back. The video shop say that they have to send it away, and if somebody else can make it work, then we have to pay. I don't think that this is fair. If, for example, cleaning the disk makes it work, then that still isn't something we should do (if I've tried to make something work, and the professional comes along, he usually isn't happy with what I've done). However, meantime, we have a copy of "The Hoobs" for the weekend.
We managed to get "The Hoobs" to work. I guess that first born is still too young to play a game unsupervised (the instructions appear on the screen as text, which she still can't read). So, daddy has to play along. It did have its moments - for example, an arctic version of Breakout. But the presentation of this particular game means that you play it through, and that's it. There's no incentive to play it again. So we're going out for a family walk, returning the game this afternoon.
We didn't go to church this morning, so this will be our only outing of the day. Yesterday was fairly heavy, and both wife and I have colds, so we don't want to do very much to-day.
But the computer is playing soothing music ...
