I'm enjoying a few moments of peace and quiet before the rest of the family awake. We had an exhausting day yesterday, with two separate hospital appointments. In the morning, daughter had to lie still for an MRI, while I held her hand and tried to think of things to say. In the afternoon, she saw the ophthalmologist (but first an orthoptist, I think). Then it was son's turn, because the geneticist had suggested that it would be a good idea if his eyes could be examined for the presence of Lisch nodules.
This would be a good place for a quiet PTL. They didn't find any. Unfortunately, this doesn't count as proof that he doesn't have Nf1. Rather, the other way round - if they had been there, it would have been a strong indication that he does. This is a no-win situation. But we have gathering confidence that he is free of the condition.
I wish that I could write something profound on this particular day in the Christian year.
