Recovery?

Wife has been signed off with stress. Son has been given the all-clear (except that wife has just phoned in to say that he's done a runny nappy - sorry about the unpleasant details, but this is where we're at). I've told the nursery to expect son back to-morrow.

But we have to try and arrange things so that wife gets some benefit from being off work. Son's nursery is halfway between where we live and where wife works, so it would be a trail for wife to collect him in the middle of the day from nursery. To-morrow, hopefully, a friend will collect him from nursery. I've suggested that on Thursday and Friday he could maybe stay all day at nursery, and I would pick him up on the way home from work.

I simply don't know what son will think. He's used to a routine.

And we're under pressure from the University not to travel to work by car. I've just read a piece of paper which says, among other things, that a web-based car-sharing scheme is 'available'. But the website asks me for a company name and password. When I queried the Transport Office, they say that the scheme is 'not available'. No apology. But if I commit myself to some car-sharing scheme, or to using public transport, what happens when a situation like this arises?

I should be happy - it's springtime. There was blossom dancing along the road, but all I could think of was the desolation of the black tarmac contrasting with the pink lightness.
