The silent treatment

Son spent all day at nursery yesterday. When I picked him up, he was pleased to see me, but he had almost nothing to say. Perhaps he was tired; perhaps his silence contained reproach.

We voted, son and I, yesterday evening. I put the crosses on the papers, while he posted them in the boxes.

Thank you all for your good wishes on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. We celebrate this evening by going out, together, without the children, an uncommon occurrence.
