We didn't make it to church this morning. I suppose that it didn't help that this morning's bible reading was the story of Pentecost, which seems as far removed from what happens in the churches we go to as is possible. In fact, I realised that, far from wanting an experience of the Holy Spirit, as I have, desperately, in the past, I have reached the point of saying to God - leave me alone, please. I read somewhere that being rejected over a period of time can lead a person to stop making the approach.
In some ways, we had a pleasant morning. I made a little progress in filling in the forms we have been asked to complete, before we can be trusted to help with children's activities in the church. I sorted out some digital photographs. I did a jigsaw with son.
