Had a difficult time last night persuading the children that it might be a good idea to get some sleep. Then, this morning, son said, "I can't go to nursery". Since wife and I are both at home to-day, wife supposed to be getting some rest, this was acceptable, if not entirely welcome. After we had some breakfast, however, he announced that he was going to nursery after all.

On the way back, I popped into the big W, to buy one item. But when I reached the checkout, it turned out that all of their tills had frozen. Thankfully, after about 10 minutes, the tills unfroze. I enjoyed the chocolate I was given to pacify me.

A child-free morning - I listened to half of Benjamin Britten's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Part way through, the heavens opened. Daughter wasn't wearing a coat when she left home this morning. Perhaps to-day will be the lesson she needs.

Son is now back home - I collected him from nursery. Daughter gets out of school in 10 minutes. This evening, daughter will be on stage - she takes part in the annual show with her ballet class.
