On the whole, it was a fairly strenuous day. Daughter's show began at 7:00 pm. She had to be there for 6:30. We had seats near the front. Daughter's appearances were particularly appreciated - she's young enough to sneak a wave to her family from time to time.

I think that it was a bit overwhelming for son, especially since the sound level was rather high. The younger children were only involved in the first half, joining their parents at the start of the interval. We were advised not to buy a ticket for daughter - she could sit on somebody's knee. My daughter, of course, claimed a seat for herself. So, it was difficult to settle son. Eventually, for a while, due to the kindness of one of the girls who works at the theatre, we (father and son) were able to sit at the back on a couple of fold-down seats, then retreated to the less stuffy atmosphere of the bar and the entrance area. We managed to return to the auditorium to catch some of the finale (which included the younger children again, in mufti).

A late night, inevitably. Tired this morning. Son is spending the whole day at the nursery. Wife has taken a day's annual leave, so that she can recuperate further, without having to worry about whether her activities are appropriate to being on sick leave. It's daughter's school sports day, which wife was going to watch (for an hour or so). Daddy's back at work.
